Welcome to our website! We hope this site will help you get to know who we are and what we have to offer.
Allow me, Greg Lewis, to introduce myself and my family to you. My parents, Loren and Barbara Lewis, moved from Sacramento to Newcastle in 1965 in order to raise their four sons in a rural environment. My brothers and I attended Newcastle Elementary School and Placer High School. My parents live in the same home in which we grew up, about one mile from my home. My parents planted 1,000 mandarins in 1982 at their Ridge Road home and still operate Magnolia Hill Orchard, a four generation farm.
I'm a General Contractor by day and ,Mandarin farmer as time allows. My wife, Sherry, is a public school teacher. With our four children, Ryan, Jordan, Alex and Kelsey, we moved to our 20 acre ranch in 1999 when it was just a field of dry star thistle waist deep. Since then we have built a home, barn, and planted many trees and vines. Together, in May of 2000, with the generous help of family and friends, we planted 2,000 Satsuma Owari Mandarin trees. In 2002 we planted one acre of Syrah and Barbera wine grapes (approx. 800 vines). Since then we have added to the orchard 50 Minneola Tangelos, 50 Navel Oranges, 30 Pomograntes, 5 peach, 5 apricots, 5 plums, 5 cherries and our own veggy patch.
We live in the midst of our orchard, atop a ridge with a 150 mile view of the upper
